In short

OnlineResumeAI collects and stores information needed to create, save, and manage your resumes. This includes your account details, saved résumés, and files you choose to import into the résumé builder. Files submitted only to the ATS Checker are processed in memory and are not retained.

We don’t sell your personal information or show advertisements.

You can delete your account, saved resumes, and uploads linked to your account through Account settings.

What we collect and why

Account details. We store your name and email address to manage your account. For email sign-ups, passwords are protected using secure, one-way hashing and are never stored as readable text. We also record when your account was created and approximately when you were last active.

Sign-in information. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and securely associate your requests with your account.

Resumes. We store the resumes you save, including the information you enter, so you can access and edit them later.

Résumé-import files. When you import a PDF or DOCX into the résumé builder, we store the original file and extracted résumé information so the import can be reopened and edited. This does not apply to files submitted only to the ATS Checker.

Feedback. If you contact us through the feedback form, we store the name, email address, message, and any screenshot you provide so we can review and respond to your request.

Abuse prevention. We keep limited records of authentication and security-related attempts to help prevent password guessing, bulk sign-ups, and misuse. Email and network addresses used in these records are stored in hashed form.

Browser storage. Resume drafts created without an account are stored on your device. Files imported into the résumé builder are sent to our servers for processing and private storage. Files submitted only to the ATS Checker are processed in memory and are not retained. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes local drafts, but does not delete files already uploaded to our servers.

ATS Checker uploads

Files submitted to the ATS Checker are processed in memory for the duration of the request. OnlineResumeAI extracts the document’s text, performs the requested analysis, and returns the results. Neither the original file nor its extracted text is written to disk, a database, object storage, or application logs. The file and extracted content are discarded when the request is complete and are not connected to your account.

Résumé import and account uploads

This section applies to files uploaded through the résumé-import feature. It does not apply to files submitted only to the ATS Checker.

Uploaded files are processed automatically by our application on Cloudflare’s infrastructure.

Uploads made without an account. These uploads are initially stored without being linked to an account. Removing an import or replacing it with another upload triggers deletion of the previous stored upload. Guest uploads are also eligible for automatic deletion. Cleanup runs when new uploads are received, so deletion may occur later.

Uploads linked to an account. These uploads are deleted when you remove or replace them, or when you delete your account. Deleting your account also removes uploads linked to it from earlier sessions.

Removing an uploaded file does not automatically delete a separate resume you have already saved using its content.

Accounts and downloads

You can build a resume without an account. An account is required to save resumes across devices and download them.

If you sign up using an email address and password, you must confirm your email address before signing in. We send a confirmation link for this purpose.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We also use browser storage to preserve drafts and support the resume-building experience.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may prevent sign-in from working, and clearing site storage removes locally stored drafts.

How long we keep information

Account details and saved resumes are kept until you delete them or delete your account.

Uploaded files are kept as described in the “Résumé import and account uploads” section.

Sign-in sessions expire automatically, no later than seven days after creation.

Abuse-prevention records older than 24 hours are removed during subsequent authentication and security checks. They may remain longer when no further checks occur.

Feedback messages and attachments are kept for as long as needed to review and respond to your feedback. They are stored separately from your account and are not automatically removed when you delete it. You can request their deletion through the feedback page.

Your choices

You can remove an imported resume using the available remove action, delete saved resumes from your account, and clear locally stored drafts through your browser’s site-storage settings.

You can change your password or delete your account through Account settings. For questions or requests about your information, contact us through the feedback page.

Deleting your account removes your account details, saved resumes, and uploads linked to the account. This action cannot be undone. It does not automatically remove separately submitted feedback or guest uploads that were never linked to your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us through the feedback page to make a request.

Security

We use HTTPS to protect information transmitted to and from our website, secure password hashing, and access controls for stored information.

No online service can guarantee complete security. We take steps to protect your information and limit the information we collect to what is needed to provide and protect the service.

Children

OnlineResumeAI is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information, please contact us through the feedback page so we can investigate and remove it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
