E-commerce Resume Guide for Pakistani BBA & MBA Graduates
A BBA or MBA can give you useful business concepts for an e-commerce role, but your resume should explain what you can do with them. Start with evidence related to orders, inventory, product information, reporting or customer coordination. A degree title alone does not demonstrate live store-management experience.
This guide focuses on operations. Buying advertising and reporting campaign returns are different responsibilities; use the performance marketing guide for that path.
Choose the actual role before writing the resume
Read the duties and experience requirements rather than treating “e-commerce” as one job. A graduate applying for an executive or assistant role should not describe themselves as an operations manager unless that accurately reflects their work.
| Role focus | Relevant evidence |
|---|---|
| Product catalogue | Checking product titles, specifications, variants and missing information |
| Orders and fulfilment | Recording order status, identifying exceptions and coordinating handovers |
| Inventory | Comparing stock records, flagging discrepancies and explaining reorder assumptions |
| Reporting | Preparing a spreadsheet with defined fields and a readable summary |
| Customer coordination | Accurate replies and escalation of requests outside your authority |
These examples help organise your evidence; they are not a universal hiring checklist. For jobs in Karachi, Lahore or elsewhere, verify the employer, office requirements and actual scope in the current vacancy.
Describe Daraz and Shopify experience accurately
Daraz's official seller page explains its Seller Center as a service for sellers to receive orders and list products. Managing a seller's account is different from being employed by Daraz. Use the seller or business as the experience context, with its permission, and name the platform as a tool.
Shopify is also a platform, not automatically your employer. Its fulfilment documentation covers the workflow of processing and shipping store orders. Say which part you handled: product updates, order records or fulfilment checks. Do not claim you managed a whole store after watching a tutorial.
If you have no live store access, build a labelled practice exercise using fictional data. You do not need to launch a business, pay for advertising or process real customer orders to explain a coursework project.
Turn coursework into an inspectable operations project
Create a small fictional order-and-stock workbook. Record the fields, assumptions and checks so an interviewer can follow your reasoning. Never use private customer data from a real business without permission.
A practice workbook could contain:
- Product code, opening stock, received stock and units allocated.
- Order ID, date, item quantity and a clearly defined fulfilment status.
- A check for missing product codes, duplicate orders or negative calculated stock.
- An exception summary explaining what needs investigation before an update.
Do not invent a delivered cost saving. If you modelled an improvement, label it as a scenario estimate and show the assumptions. Use the tools you actually used, such as Excel formulas and filters, rather than adding every analytics product to the skills section.
Write evidence-based bullets
| Weak wording | More useful wording |
|---|---|
| Know supply chain | Built a coursework stock-reconciliation sheet and documented assumptions for comparing records |
| Managed Daraz | Updated approved product listings for an independent seller, naming only tasks you performed |
| Increased revenue | Report a supported outcome only if you have the source records and permission to share it |
These are writing examples, not verified results or instructions to claim experience you lack. Distinguish class simulations, volunteer assistance, internships and paid work.
A business graduate can place a relevant project near education when paid experience is limited. An MBA with relevant employment may give that work more space. The graduate CV guide explains section-order choices.

Recommended template and application checklist
Preview the Director template. Its restrained single-column layout keeps education, operational responsibilities and project outputs clear. Its Executive category is a design label, not a requirement to claim management seniority.
- Confirm the vacancy's tools, experience level and location.
- Label practice data and coursework explicitly.
- Avoid describing a seller-platform account as employment by the platform.
- Open project links while signed out and check permissions.
- Check the exported file and tailor the resume to the actual duties.
No salary or employment guarantee is implied. Compare any offer's actual responsibilities, working hours and compensation before making a decision.
