CV Format for Fresh Graduates in Pakistan: A Sample and Free Templates

Your first CV does not need a long employment history. It needs to make good use of what you have: your degree, projects, internships and the skills you can explain in an interview. For most graduates, a clear one-page layout is a good place to start.

Below is a section order and sample you can adapt. For help deciding what to include, read the no-work-experience guide. For help turning a final-year project into strong bullet points, see the fresh-graduate writing guide.

Use this order as a starting point:

  1. Name, city, email and phone number.
  2. A short, role-specific summary, if it adds useful context.
  3. Education, including graduation or expected graduation date.
  4. Two or three selected projects.
  5. Internship or other relevant practical experience.
  6. Technical or professional skills.
  7. Relevant achievements, certifications or activities.

An internship that closely matches the vacancy can go above projects. Do not force your strongest evidence to the bottom simply because a template puts it there.

Fictional graduate sample

Ayesha Khan is a fictional computer science graduate in Lahore. The dates, project details and employer are examples, not claims about a real graduate or university.

Ayesha Khan — Graduate Software Developer Lahore, Pakistan · ayesha.khan@example.com · [your phone number] GitHub: [working profile link]

Summary Computer science graduate with project experience in React, Node.js and SQL. Implemented booking workflows and tested API behaviour during a university project; seeking a junior web-development role.

Education BS Computer Science — [actual university name] · 2022–2026 Relevant coursework: databases, software engineering and data structures. CGPA: [include the accurate value and scale if requested or useful].

Final-year project: Campus room booking Team of four · September 2025–May 2026

  • Implemented the booking form in React and validation for invalid time ranges.
  • Wrote Node.js endpoints to create and cancel reservations.
  • Tested duplicate booking requests and documented the database schema.

Selected project: Expense tracker

  • Created a SQL-backed expense log with monthly summaries and CSV export.
  • Added sample data and instructions so another student could run the project.

Internship Development Intern — Example Applications, Lahore · July–August 2025

  • Updated form validation under supervision and tested the changes against written acceptance criteria.
  • Recorded bugs with reproduction steps and screenshots for review.

Skills JavaScript, React, Node.js, SQL, Git and API testing.

Activity Student computing society volunteer · 2024–2025 Helped prepare a workshop registration sheet and communicate session details.

If you have no internship, remove that heading. Projects can remain useful without being described as professional employment.

Make your summary specific

A weak summary reads, “Hardworking fresh graduate looking for a challenging opportunity in a reputable organisation.” It does not identify a field or explain what the person can contribute.

A stronger version names the target role and evidence: “Computer science graduate with project experience in React, Node.js and SQL; implemented booking workflows and tested API behaviour.” Use that approach with your own discipline. An accounting graduate might mention reconciliations completed in coursework; an electrical engineering graduate might mention a tested control-system project.

You can omit the summary if it repeats the rest of the page. A clear heading and strong education/project section can do the work.

Pick a template that supports the content

Open the Quiet Space template and inspect a preview. Prefer a design with readable body text, clear headings and enough space for project bullets. Avoid choosing a design only because it has more icons or decorative skill bars.

Its spacious, single-column layout and restrained headings give education, internships and project bullets room to read clearly. Check the preview after adding your content rather than shrinking text to force one page.

Start with a free design if you want to test the workflow before paying. Check the current pricing page for download and plan conditions; availability of a free template does not mean every premium feature is free.

The first-resume guide explains the actual editor controls. Do not upload certificate scans into the CV to fill unused space.

Education details that need checking

Write your university and degree accurately. FAST, NUST, UET, LUMS and COMSATS are contextual examples, not interchangeable qualifications. Use the institution and campus you attended. Do not imply that one university name replaces project evidence.

If your degree is unfinished, state “Expected June 2027” rather than “Graduated 2027.” Include a scholarship, medal or competition result only if you received it. For a team award, state the team context and your contribution.

Download and application checklist

  • The first half of the page establishes your degree and target role.
  • Project dates and your individual contributions are clear.
  • Skills listed can be supported in an interview or demonstration.
  • Email, phone and repository links work.
  • The PDF text can be selected and copied in a sensible order.
  • The filename identifies you and the role.

Questions graduates ask

Should I include every semester project?

Select the projects most relevant to the vacancy. More entries are not automatically more persuasive.

Should I show CGPA?

Show it when requested or when you choose to highlight it. Always include the scale and use the actual figure.

Can a graduate use two pages?

Yes, when there is enough relevant material. Start with one page and expand for evidence, not empty headings.
