PEC GET Programme: Eligibility, Application Steps and Resume Preparation

The Pakistan Engineering Council's Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) programme connects eligible engineering graduates with structured training placements. Before preparing an application, identify the campaign you qualify for and follow PEC's official instructions.

Check the current programme notice before applying

Start with PEC's official GET application instructions for process guidance and links to its application service. The guide contains earlier campaign references, so confirm the active notice, application status, deadline, eligibility, required documents and placement terms directly with PEC before acting.

A public page may describe an earlier intake or training already under way. Do not treat it as a new application opportunity. If the instructions are unclear, ask through PEC's official support route before submitting.

Check registration and campaign eligibility

The PEC registration portal provides registration guidance and directs eligible graduates to contact their university for the One-Window process. Check the portal's current instructions and your actual registration status. A degree, an application for registration and an issued registration are different facts.

The Smart PEC application guide describes campaign checks for graduation year, engineering discipline, domicile and existing employment or training. Its page mixes 2024 and 2025 references; use it as process background, not proof of eligibility for a later intake.

Before starting, compare the active notice against your own records:

  • Graduation result and completion dates.
  • Engineering discipline and registration status.
  • Domicile or placement conditions, where specified.
  • Current employment or training commitments.

Do not apply an unrelated PEC programme's CGPA rule to GET. If a condition is unclear, use PEC's official support route rather than assuming a social-media summary overrides the campaign terms.

Understand the application workflow

The published guide describes this sequence:

  1. Sign in through PEC's linked application service and choose the GET campaign.
  2. Select the placement preferences requested.
  3. Complete system checks and declarations.
  4. Review personal and payment information before submission.
  5. Submit and retain the acknowledgement.

These are background steps, not a walkthrough of an authenticated current application. Follow the screens and instructions you actually receive. Do not bypass a failed eligibility check or agree to a declaration that is untrue. Submission or placement-pool acknowledgement is not the same as selection or an employment offer.

Confirm documents at the correct stage

The published application guide says no documents were needed initially and mentions later police-character verification. Treat this as batch-specific information; check the active notice for documents and timing. It also warns that submitted applications cannot be edited.

For your own preparation, maintain accurate education and registration records, a working contact address and any documents requested by PEC. Supply identity or payment information only through the verified designated process. Do not attach scans to a public portfolio or add banking information to your resume.

A resume created here does not replace portal fields, declarations or verification. The cited guide does not establish a CV upload as a universal initial requirement. Prepare one for a placement partner or another trainee application when requested.

Present engineering projects honestly

A useful graduate resume shows your discipline, education, contribution to projects and any real internship. Explain what you designed, tested, analysed or documented and separate your work from a team's output.

Weak wordingMore useful wording
Worked on final-year projectDescribe the component you developed, the test you performed and the output recorded
Expert in engineering softwareName tools used and a task you can demonstrate
PEC registeredState registration only when issued; describe an application as pending if that is accurate

These are editorial writing examples, not PEC selection criteria. Do not claim professional sign-off, registration or safety approval beyond your actual role.

Fictional graduate engineering resume

The person, university and project below are fictional. The example is not an official PEC format or proof of programme eligibility.

PEC Registration

[Actual issued registration details, or accurate pending status; replace before submitting].

Do not copy the example's graduation year to fit a campaign. Use your real qualification and only include internship experience you completed.

Preview the Career Standard template. Its conventional single-column structure suits engineering projects, education, supported skills and registration status. It is our resume recommendation, not a PEC-approved template.

  • Identify the active campaign and its dated requirements.
  • Confirm eligibility against your records.
  • Read declarations and review the information before submission.
  • Keep acknowledgements and check official updates.
  • Prepare a factual resume if the placement partner requests one.
