Pakistani Engineer & Professional CV Format for Saudi Arabia (KSA) and UAE Jobs
Applying for an engineering or professional role in Saudi Arabia or the UAE involves more than choosing a Gulf CV template. Your resume needs to explain your work clearly, while qualification checks, attestation and any professional registration need their own attention.
Start with the vacancy. A maintenance engineer and an accountant will need different examples, even if their CVs use the same layout. Include your current location and availability, and check which supporting documents the employer actually asks for.
What to include in your professional CV
Use name and contact details, a focused summary, recent experience, selected projects, technical skills, education and accurate registration or certification information. If the vacancy asks for a prescribed format, use it.
For engineers, explain project scope, your discipline and your contribution. Distinguish design, site supervision, maintenance and testing responsibilities. For other professionals, use the same principle with the relevant work: reconciliations for accounting, case handling for support or documented processes for operations.
Fictional engineer example
The candidate, employer and project below are fictional. They demonstrate writing structure, not real credentials or permission to practise.

Professional Experience Mechanical Engineer — Example Manufacturing, Pakistan · August 2022–present

- Recorded assumptions and remaining checks rather than presenting unverified calculations as final design approval.
Technical Skills [Actual CAD tool], maintenance documentation, inspection records, engineering calculations within your actual experience, technical reporting.
Education BS Mechanical Engineering — [actual institution] · [year].
Professional registration [Relevant registration and actual status, if applicable].
Do not copy the registration placeholder into your finished document. Include the actual body and status only when you can support them.
Engineering registration is a separate check
The Saudi Council of Engineers publishes professional accreditation guidance. Its guidance describes professional registration for engineering practice and assessment of qualifications. Check the current category and requirements for your role directly with the council and employer.
Do not assume that a Pakistani qualification, a CV heading or a job offer automatically supplies Saudi professional registration. Do not describe an application as an approved registration. “Applied,” “in progress” and “registered” are different factual statuses.
For UAE roles, confirm the employer and relevant authority's requirements for the occupation and location. Do not treat Saudi requirements as UAE rules or assume a single registration applies to every profession.
Mention degree attestation accurately
Use HEC's official requirements for the Pakistani degree-attestation stage. For UAE documents, check the UAE MoFA attestation service and the route applicable to your document.
Confirm the full requested process with the employer or authority. Do not promise a particular timeline or say every degree follows the same sequence. A completed stage should be described precisely, such as “HEC attestation completed,” rather than “All Gulf documents approved” when that has not happened.
Your CV can give a brief accurate status if relevant. Keep certificate scans and identity documents separate, and provide them through the official process when requested. This guide explains CV preparation; it does not determine immigration or professional eligibility.
Location, passport and visa details
“Visa-friendly formatting” should mean clear, consistent information, not a design trick that influences a visa decision. Use your actual name, degree and employment dates consistently with supporting records.
| Detail | General-purpose CV recommendation | When more detail may be appropriate |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Current city and country | Vacancy asks about local availability |
| Relocation | Truthful willingness and realistic notice period | Recruiter asks about start arrangements |
| Visa or residency status | Include an accurate brief statement only when relevant or requested | Official application asks for the specific status |
| Passport number | Keep off a broadly circulated CV | Verified recruitment or official process requests it separately |
| Nationality | Answer accurately if requested | Application includes a required eligibility field |
If you are in Pakistan, do not put Riyadh or Dubai as your current city. If you are visiting the UAE, do not describe that as employment authorisation. An employer may request passport or residency documents during recruitment, but that does not make them suitable for every CV you share.
Keep the application readable
Use conventional headings and a consistent date format. Put contact details in the main content. Export the file type requested by the employer and check the reading order by copying the text into a plain-text editor.
The ATS formatting guide covers document checks. The Saudi accountant guide and UAE support guide show how the emphasis changes for other professions.
Final application checklist
- The vacancy's qualification and location requirements are checked.
- Work bullets identify your actual contribution and level of responsibility.
- Registration and attestation statements match completed steps.
- Current location, notice period and availability are accurate.
- Sensitive supporting documents are kept out of a general CV.
- The exported document and links work.
Build your professional CV after checking the requirements. If your work history is already in a LinkedIn PDF, the import guide explains the workflow; review every qualification and date after importing.
Common questions
Should I include passport details because a Gulf recruiter expects them?
Ask what is required and where to supply it. Prefer the specified secure process rather than placing identifiers on a widely forwarded CV.
Does an ATS score confirm Gulf job eligibility?
No. It evaluates aspects of the document according to the tool's criteria. Qualification, registration and work eligibility need their own checks.
Preview the Career Standard template. Its traditional single-column career structure suits the engineer sample's recent experience, selected project and qualifications. Keep registration status accurate and treat eligibility checks separately from resume formatting.
